Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
"Imagine that on this day Jesus sends you and several dozen of your fellow parishioners to nearby towns or neighborhoods to spread the gospel. Today we hear Jesus do just that with seventy-two of his disciples. He empowers them to call for repentance, heal the sick, drive out demons, and preach of the kingdom of God.
“The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few,” he tells them then and us now. May God’s word inspire us to spread the Good News and may the Eucharist nourish and sustain us as we labor in the fields of the Lord.

Decimocuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

Imagínate que en el día de hoy Jesús te envía, junto con una docena de tus compañeros parroquianos, a difundir el Evangelio en pueblecitos o vecindarios cercanos. Hoy vemos que Jesús hace eso precisamente con setenta y dos de sus discípulos. Él les da el poder para exhortar a la gente a que se arrepientan, para curar a los enfermos, para expulsar demonios y para predicar el Reino de Dios. Les dice a ellos entonces y a nosotros ahora que “la cosecha es mucha y los trabajadores pocos”. Que la palabra de Dios nos inspire a difundir la buena nueva y que la Eucaristía nos nutra y nos sustente mientras trabajamos en la viña del Señor.
